  1. What type of material do you use?

    We use only the following in our designs…
    .925 Sterling Silver, 14kt gold filled beads, Bali Silver, Swarovski Crystals, and Swarovski Pearls
    All of our jewelry is hand strung on professional 49 strand flexible beading wire. It is a nylon coated stainless steel wire that combines the softness of thread with the strength of steel.

  2. How will I know what size I need?

    Measure your wrist snug, below the wrist bone, with a flexible measuring tape. Add ½ inch to this measurement. This will be the size bracelet that you need. For example if your measure 6.5", add ½ " and you will need a size 7 bracelet. Here at The Birds & The Beads we find the average size wrist to be a 7.

    When ordering jewelry for Children please note the following:
       This jewelry contains components that may pose a choking hazard for children under the age of 3!!!!

    Please be aware that this jewelry contains very small parts, and should NEVER be left on small child unattended. Although our jewelry is handcrafted with high quality materials, it is NOT intended for continuous daily wear on a baby, toddler, or young child. Always remember to remove your childs jewelry when asleep or out of eyesight!

  3. What if my bracelet doesn't fit?

    There is a re-sizing fee of $5 (plus a $5 shipping/handling fee). When buying a gift it is very difficult to know the size of the recipient. The gift can be resized within 30 days - after the 30-day period a re-sizing fee of $5 (plus a $5 shipping/handling fee) will apply.

  4. How is The Birds & The Beads different from other companies?

    At The Birds & The Beads we take pride in providing 100% customer satisfaction! We specialize in CUSTOM design. If you are looking for something special or don't see something that is quite right, just ask. Consider our designs a suggestion. Maybe you would like something you see in two different pieces combined into one, or you may like a style that is featured with Sterling Silver and Gold Filled beads but don't want the Gold. Love our designs but don't see something that's exactly what you are looking for? Let us know and hopefully we can design something that is perfect for you!

  5. Will my bracelet look exactly like the picture on the website?

    Due to the availability of some beads (mostly the Bali Silver), sometimes it is necessary to substitute. We will try our best to match what you see.

    On our Name Bracelet designs, due to the customization of this piece your design may differ slightly depending on the length of the name or names.

  6. What kind of guarantee do you offer?

    We offer a 30-day money back guarantee on your purchase. We want you to be 100% satisfied with our products. Return your bracelet in the exact condition and packaging you received it in within 30 days and we will be happy to refund your money minus the shipping/handling charge.

    We will be happy to e-mail you a picture of your design before shipping it to be sure it is exactly what you want!

  7. What do I do if my jewelry needs repair?

    Hey - even Tiffany & Co. has a repair department, right? Send your piece to us and we will quote you on the cost of repair before it is completed.

    We guarantee our designs 100%. If there is a defect in our workmanship than we will be happy to repair your piece free of charge. We cannot however guarantee lost charms.

  8. How do you calculate the 30-day return period?

    30 days from the date it shipped to you.

  9. How do I take care of my piece?

    Consider your design from The Birds & The Beads a fine piece of jewelry and treat it as such. Sterling Silver, over time will oxidize and may develop a fine patina. A year from now, it may not look the same as the day you purchased it. That is the beauty and character of silver. Some things you can do to help your new Sterling Silver jewelry from oxidizing are: *Wear your jewelry often…air causes silver to oxidize, however the oils in your body will protect it.
    *Store your Sterling Silver in an airtight Ziploc bag when not wearing it.
    *Never dip your jewelry if there are Crystals or Pearls on your design.
    *Do not wear your jewelry to bathe in, swim, or while washing dishes (or just avoid the dishes!).
    *Avoid contact with hairspray or harsh chemicals.
    *If needed clean your jewelry with a polishing cloth designed for sterling silver. **Don't forget to add a Sunshine Polishing Cloth
    to your order for $5.00 when checking out**
    *If your piece becomes heavily tarnished use warm water and lightly scrub with a mild dish detergent and a soft toothbrush.


  10. What do I do if my bracelet stretches out?

    Depending on the wear and tear of your jewelry, your bracelet may stretch a bit due to any tension on the stringing wire. Just send it on back and we will restring it for you. There is a $5 restringing fee plus a $5 shipping/handling fee.

  11. How is the jewelry packaged?

    Your new treasure will be packaged inside The Birds & The Beads signature gift box. Your piece will be placed inside the gift box in an airtight Ziploc bag (as described above under FAQ's #9 "How do I take care of my piece?"). Each gift box will also contain a Care Sheet.

  12. How long does it take to receive my order?

    Most orders are ready to ship out on an average of 3 days, however we cannot guarantee that timeframe. We can guarantee that your order will be received in approximately 2 weeks. It will be worth the wait…..I promise!

  13. How is my order shipped?

    Your order will be sent via United States Postal Service in a secure Bubble Mailer, which will cushion and protect your order during shipping.

  14. What is your Privacy Policy?

    We promise that your personal information will be safe with The Birds & The Beads! We will not share any of your personal information with anyone outside the company. We do not sell our customer lists to ANYONE!

    We use ProPay.com for all of our orders using MasterCard and Visa as their form of payment. Please feel free to visit their site for their Privacy Policy.

  15. Where do I send repairs or returns?

    Make sure when sending your jewelry, you return it inside it's original gift box to protect it during shipping. Mail your jewelry in a Padded mailer such as the Bubble Mailer it was sent to you in to help insure that it gets back to us in one piece. Remember to always insure your package as The Birds & The Beads is not responsible for items lost in shipping when they are being returned to us.

  16. Do you ship internationally?

    Yes we do! Since oversea shipping rates do vary, please inquire about the shipping cost before placing your order.
