In the summer of 2004 I thought it would be fun to take a jewelry making class to learn how to make jewelry for my two daughters. I've always loved finding those perfect personalized gifts for family and friends, and thought this might be another way to accomplish just that. How perfect to be able to create that unique gift on my own to say "You mean the world to me"! The night of the class I made my first two bracelets. Little did I know, that was it, I was hooked! After creating several pieces for my own children, a close friend of mine questioned, "Why don't you start your own business?". The Birds & The Beads adventure had begun…

I spent the next few months strategically building my business and coming up with my first original designs. On the night of November 6, 2004, The Birds & The Beads was unveiled to my family and friends. The evening was a huge success. Later that very same month I made a proposal to my first retail store, La La Land, a Children's boutique, located in Elmhurst, Illinois. La La Land began to sell designs from our Children's Collection, as well as a few adult designs from our other collections, which they still do this very day. In early summer 2005, My Party Princess, located in Schaumburg, Illinois became our second retail location in addition to La La Land. It gives me great pleasure to say that my bracelets can be seen on wrists big and small around the globe as I have sold to customers in places like California, Maryland, Canada, and even Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic, just to name a few! It has been a VERY exciting year since the creation of The Birds & The Beads.

With the launch of our website I hope this next year brings as much excitement and joy for each and everyone who has taken the time to stop by and visit our new site, as it brings me in creating these Handcrafted Originals for you!
